Deriv Matches / Differs bots: one digit, two very different trades

5 мин чтения

Matches / Differs is the digit contract with the widest spread between its two sides. You name one digit. Matches bets the last digit will be that digit. Differs bets it will be anything else. Same digit, same tick, and the two sides behave nothing alike.

How Matches / Differs settles

On Deriv's synthetic indices the last digit of the price is equally likely to be any of the ten, from 0 to 9. A Matches / Differs contract reads the last digit of its final tick and checks it against the digit you named.

Differs wins on nine digits out of ten. Each win pays a small part of the stake, because it was the likely outcome.

Matches wins on one digit in ten. Each win pays about nine times the stake, because it was the unlikely one.

Most bots trade a one tick contract, so the trade settles on the very next tick.

Differs: frequent small wins

A Differs bot wins most of its trades. The number to plan around is the loss: when the named digit does turn up, one loss costs several wins. That is why a Differs session can look smooth for a long time and then give back a chunk in one trade.

The Differs bots on BinaryTick ship with a 2.1x martingale and a max stake of 5. Because each Differs win pays little, 2.1x wins back part of a losing run rather than all of it, and the max stake sends the ladder back to 1 after three steps. Most of them stop after 4 or 5 losses in a row.

Matches: rare large wins

A Matches bot loses most of its trades, and that is normal. Long runs without a win are part of the design, and one hit pays for many misses. It is the most volatile way to trade digits, and on a demo balance it shows you quickly what variance feels like.

The Matches bots ship with a gentler 1.2x martingale and a max stake of 3, sized to win back a losing run of up to six trades inside the default stop loss of 10. Several also allow longer losing runs: Hot Digit Match and Cold Digit Match stop after 12 losses in a row, and Lucky Digit after 6.

The Matches / Differs bots on BinaryTick

BinaryTick has 11 Matches / Differs bots, all free, on the Matches / Differs page.

Differs bots

  • Digit Differs reads the digit from the last trade and bets the next one differs from it, on Volatility 75.
  • Repeat Fade names whichever digit has just arrived, so it wins unless the same digit comes up twice in a row. It has no window to fill, so it starts trading as soon as the price feed is running.
  • Rotating Differs reads nothing from the market and names each digit in turn, 0 up to 9 and round again.
  • Digit Gap Differs names the digit that appeared most recently, as long as it really is recent.
  • Edge Digit Differs only ever names 0 or 9, whichever has been scarcer, so it trades less often.
  • Successor Watch looks at which digit has tended to follow the one showing now, and names that.
  • Digit Cluster Fade counts all ten digits over a window and, once one has clumped past a threshold, buys Differs against it.

Matches bots

  • Lucky Digit buys Matches on the barrier digit you pick, on every trade, on Volatility 25 (1s). It stops after 6 losses in a row by default.
  • Hot Digit Match names the digit that has been showing up most, while it is clearly ahead of the rest.
  • Cold Digit Match names the digit that has been showing up least, while it is genuinely scarce.
  • Digit Drought Sniper waits until one digit has stayed away for 25 ticks before backing it. That happens a handful of times a session, so lower the drought length if you want it to trade more often.

None of these bots treats a digit as due. Every tick is a fresh draw. What a window or a count changes is when a bot is in the market and how often it trades, and each card spells out its rule under How it works.

The settings that matter

Barrier digit. On Lucky Digit this is the digit you back. The odds are the same whichever you choose, so pick one and leave it.

Martingale and max stake. These set how hard the bot leans after a loss. Keep what the bot ships with, or untick Use martingale for a flat stake while you learn how it behaves.

Max losses in a row. On Differs a short limit rarely triggers, because losses are rare. On Matches, losing stretches are normal, so set this with them in mind: Hot and Cold Digit Match ship at 12, Lucky Digit at 6 and Digit Drought Sniper at 4.

Stop loss and take profit. Both default to 10. Set them before you run so the session ends in both directions.

Run one now

Open the Matches / Differs bots and run one on your demo balance. Start with Digit Differs to see a high win rate and its occasional loss, then try Lucky Digit for the opposite experience. Running both in one sitting teaches you more about digit contracts than any amount of reading. For how Matches / Differs compares with the other digit contracts, see the digit bots guide.
