Deriv bot not placing trades? How to get it trading on BinaryTick

You pressed Run bot and nothing is happening. Either the bot never started, or it is running and waiting for its moment. The card tells you which, and each case has a quick fix.

If the Run bot button is greyed out

When a bot cannot start, its card says why, in a line just above the buttons or, for a market problem, under the market list.

"Log in to run a bot." You are browsing signed out. Bots trade on your Deriv account, so sign in with Deriv first. Every account has a demo balance, so you can run bots right away without funding anything.

"Connecting to your account." You are signed in and the platform is still connecting to Deriv. Give it a few seconds and the button unlocks.

"Another bot is running. Stop it to run this one." Only one bot runs at a time, so every card locks while any bot is running. Stop the running bot from the run panel and the cards unlock.

"Some settings are out of range. Open Settings to fix them before running." A number on the card sits outside what that setting allows, often after typing a stake or a limit by hand. Open Settings, fix the field marked with an error, or press Reset to defaults.

"Not available on this market." This note appears under the market list. You picked a market that does not offer this bot's contract. Choose another market from the card's market list, or switch back to the one the bot ships with. If you see "Could not check this market." instead, the check itself did not complete; reload the page and try again.

If it is running but not trading

A bot that is running but quiet is usually doing exactly what its rule says: waiting.

It is a Longer scans bot. Every bot has a pace, and the Pace filter on the Bots page lets you pick one. Quick entries bots trade often. Longer scans bots wait for an uncommon reading, such as RSI at an extreme, a candle pattern or a lopsided run of digits, so several quiet minutes are normal. Every one of them carries a short note on its card naming the setting to loosen if you want more trades. Digit Frequency Scanner, for example, trades more often with a smaller sample size or bias levels closer to 50.

It reads completed candles. Engulfing Reversal, Hammer Rejection and Three Candle Push look at finished one minute candles, so they can only decide once a minute at most.

It holds one contract at a time. Bots that buy timed contracts, such as Early Exit Scalper, keep a position open for a while before the next one starts. Shorten the duration on the card to turn trades over faster.

It is cooling down after a loss. Most bots can sit out a few ticks after a losing trade before they look for the next entry. The Cooldown after a loss (ticks) setting controls how many; set it to 0 to skip the pause.

If you want frequent trades, set the Pace filter on the Bots page to Quick entries and pick from those.

If it traded and then stopped

A bot that placed trades and then went quiet has most likely hit one of its own limits: take profit, stop loss or max losses in a row. That is the bot working as set. See why a Deriv bot stops for how each limit ends a session and how to start the next one.

Get it running

Most of the time the fix is a single tap: sign in, pick a supported market, or wait out a Longer scans bot. Open the Bots page, filter by the contract you trade, and press Run bot on your demo balance. If a card still will not start, read the note above its buttons and under its market list. One of them names the reason.
