Deriv Touch / No Touch bots: barriers, payouts and the bots
6 min de lecture
Touch / No Touch is a contract on whether the market reaches a price level before the contract ends. Touch pays if the price touches the barrier at any time before expiry, even if it falls back afterwards. No Touch pays if the price never touches it. Where the price finishes does not matter, only whether it got there. This guide covers how the contract settles, how the barrier sets the payout, and the Touch / No Touch bots you can run free on BinaryTick.
How Touch / No Touch settles
When you buy, Deriv sets the barrier at the entry price plus the offset. With an entry at 640.00 and an offset of +0.2, the barrier is 640.20.
- Touch wins if any tick before expiry reaches 640.20.
- No Touch wins if no tick reaches it.
The offset is a price distance in the index's own units, not a percentage. On the synthetic indices Deriv sells Touch / No Touch by the tick from 5 to 10 ticks, as well as by the minute and the day. The bots on BinaryTick trade the tick version.
How the barrier sets the payout
A barrier close to the entry is easy to touch, so Touch pays little and No Touch pays a lot. Move it further away and the two swap. These are Deriv's quotes for a 1 USD stake on Volatility 100 over 5 ticks:
| Barrier offset | Touch pays | No Touch pays |
|---|---|---|
| +0.1 | 1.61 USD | 2.27 USD |
| +0.2 | 2.24 USD | 1.62 USD |
| +0.3 | 3.26 USD | 1.32 USD |
| +0.5 | 7.58 USD | 1.07 USD |
For scale, Volatility 100 moved about 0.13 per tick on average over the 1,000 ticks before those quotes. At +0.2, the default on every bot below, the price has to travel about one and a half average ticks' worth, upward, within five ticks.
The tick count matters too. More ticks give the price more time to reach the barrier, so Touch pays less and No Touch pays more: at +0.2 over 10 ticks, Touch paid 1.68 USD and No Touch 2.14 USD.
The Touch / No Touch bots on BinaryTick
BinaryTick has 10 Touch / No Touch bots, all free, on the Touch / No Touch page. Every one ships on Volatility 100 with a Barrier offset of 0.2 above the entry and a 5 tick contract. Each bot reads the market and decides whether that barrier is within reach: if it is, the bot buys Touch, and if not, No Touch. Six trade often. Four sit in the Longer scans group and wait for a specific setup.
Bots that measure how far the market is moving.
- Touch Hunter averages the tick-to-tick move over the last 20 ticks. Busier than its Busy level buys Touch; quieter buys No Touch.
- Candle Reach averages the high-to-low range of recent one-minute candles. A range clearly wider than the barrier distance buys Touch; a narrower one buys No Touch.
- Wick Probe measures how far recent candles poked above their own body. Wicks reaching about as far as the barrier buy Touch.
- High Water Touch looks back through recent history in blocks the length of the contract, 5 ticks by default, and counts how many of them climbed as far as the barrier. A high share buys Touch.
Bots that read the direction of the move. The barrier sits above the entry, so only a rise can reach it.
- Climb Rate Touch measures how fast a moving average is climbing and projects it over the contract. A projection that clears the barrier buys Touch; anything less, including a falling market, buys No Touch.
- Run To Barrier waits for 4 ticks in a row moving the same way. A rising run buys Touch, a falling run buys No Touch.
- RSI Barrier Push reads RSI, a 0 to 100 score of how strongly recent ticks have pushed up or down. It buys Touch only when RSI is above 70 and the price sits above its moving average, and No Touch when RSI is below 30 and the price sits below it.
- Range Position Touch finds where the price sits between its recent high and low. Near the low, it buys Touch; near the high, where reaching the barrier means making new ground, it buys No Touch.
- Band Stretch draws Bollinger Bands, a channel around the price whose width follows how much the market has been moving. A break above the channel buys Touch, a break below it buys No Touch.
A bot that only buys No Touch.
- Settled No Touch trades only when recent movement is quieter than normal for the market and the ticks are not drifting steadily one way. Then it backs the barrier to hold.
Every bot explains its rule under How it works on its card, and every number it uses is under Settings.
The settings that matter
Barrier offset. The dial from the table above. Further out, Touch pays more and No Touch pays less. Several bots compare their reading against this distance, so moving the barrier also changes when they choose each side.
Duration (ticks). From 5 to 10. A longer contract gives the price more time to reach the barrier.
Martingale. These bots ship with a 2.1x martingale and a max stake of 5 USD, sized so that a win repays the run before it. The ladder runs 1, 2.1, then 4.41 USD before the max stake sends it back to 1 USD. At the default barrier that holds on Touch: a win at 4.41 USD and the 2.24 USD payout returns about 5.47 USD in profit, more than the 3.10 USD lost on the two trades before it. A No Touch win at 1.62 USD returns about 2.73 USD, which falls short of those 3.10 USD. If a bot mostly buys No Touch at the default barrier, its ladder recovers most of a run rather than all of it. Untick Use martingale for a flat stake.
Max losses in a row, stop loss and take profit. The bots stop after 4 losses in a row by default, and once the session is 10 USD down or 10 USD up. Set them to amounts that suit your balance before you run.
Touch / No Touch or Higher / Lower?
Both use a barrier set from the entry price. Higher / Lower asks where the price is at expiry: above or below the line at the last tick. Touch asks whether the price reached the line at any tick along the way, so a spike that fades still wins. If your read is about how far the market will travel, Touch / No Touch fits. If it is about where the market will finish, see the Higher / Lower bots guide.
Run one now
Open the Touch / No Touch bots and run one on your demo balance first. Touch Hunter is a good place to start: it trades often and switches between Touch and No Touch as the market speeds up and slows down, so you will see both sides settle inside a short session. Then move the Barrier offset a step at a time and watch the payouts change. For how the martingale ladder works across BinaryTick bots, see the martingale guide.
