Deriv bots in South Africa: fund with Ozow, Capitec Pay or EFT
3 min de lecture
South African traders can fund a Deriv account straight from their bank app. Ozow and Capitec Pay are both on Deriv's list, so you can go from signing up to running a free bot on BinaryTick without leaving your phone.
Step 1: Open your Deriv account through BinaryTick
Open BinaryTick and press Sign up. Deriv creates the account on its own page, and the demo balance is ready from the start, so you can run bots before you fund anything. Already have a Deriv account? Press Log in; your password is only ever entered on Deriv's page.
Step 2: Fund it from your bank
These are the methods on Deriv's payment methods page that South Africans already use, with the limits Deriv listed on 11 October 2026, in USD:
| Method | Deposit | Withdrawal | Deposit time | Withdrawal time |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ozow | 10 to 4,000 | 10 to 4,000 | Instant | Instant |
| Capitec Pay | 10 to 4,000 | 10 to 5,000 | Instant | Instant |
| AOPay EFT | 10 to 500 | 10 to 500 | Instant | Instant |
| One Voucher | 10 to 200 | Not available | Instant | Not available |
| Visa or Mastercard | 10 to 10,000 | 10 to 10,000 | Instant | 1 working day |
| Deriv P2P | Up to 10,000 a day | Up to 10,000 a day | Up to 1 hour | Up to 1 hour |
Ozow pays straight from your bank account, with deposits and withdrawals both listed as instant. Capitec Pay does the same for Capitec clients. AOPay EFT handles a standard electronic funds transfer. 1Voucher, listed by Deriv as One Voucher, lets you deposit with a voucher bought in a shop; Deriv lists it for deposits only. Where it is offered, Deriv P2P lets you buy and sell with other Deriv users in rand, at a rate you agree. Deriv also lists e-wallets such as Skrill and Neteller, and USDT, if you already use them.
Your Deriv cashier shows the methods your account can use, and Deriv can change its limits at any time, so check it before you top up.
Step 3: Practise on the demo balance
Switch the account selector to demo, open the Bots tab, and press Run bot on any card. Demo trades run on the same live prices and contracts as real ones. The demo account guide has a plan for your first hour.
Step 4: Set up your first real session
Most bots ship with an initial stake of 1 USD, a stop loss of 10 USD and a 2.1x martingale capped by a max stake of 5 USD. The stop loss is checked after each trade, and the martingale can put up to 4.41 USD on a single trade, so a session at the defaults needs a balance comfortably above the stop loss: about 15 USD. Starting with 10 USD? Untick Use martingale for a flat 1 USD stake and set the stop loss to 9, and the session ends before your balance runs short. The initial stake can go as low as 0.35 USD.
Three bots to start with:
- Digit Differs wins about nine times in ten.
- Over 3 / Under 7 switches side after each trade based on the last digit.
- RSI Reversal buys against the 14 tick RSI once it passes 30 or 70.
Each card explains its rule under How it works and keeps every setting under Settings, so your take profit and stop loss are set before you press Run bot.
